Vibe Coding & AI App Building

Replit vs Lovable (2026): Pricing, Mobile and Code Compared

Replit vs Lovable: every plan price, how each one meters usage, mobile apps, code export and hosting, and which to pick. Checked on official pages, Oct 2026.

Replit vs Lovable comes down to one question: do you want a full cloud workspace that builds web and native mobile apps, or a prompt-first builder that makes polished web apps on a managed backend? Pick Replit if you need a mobile app or want to work in the code. Pick Lovable if you want a web app fast and don't need the App Store.

We make Youmake, an AI app builder for websites, web apps, mobile apps and slide decks, so we follow both tools closely. Every price and feature below comes from Replit's and Lovable's own pricing pages and documentation, checked on October 27, 2026. We didn't run paid test projects, so there are no made-up benchmark scores here.

Disclosure: Youmake competes with both Replit and Lovable. We've stuck to what each company publishes, including where they're stronger than us.

How each one meters usage

This is where the two differ most, and where your real monthly bill comes from.

Replit has three Agent modes. Free Mode costs nothing within an allowance that, on Core and Pro, "refreshes every five hours." Power Mode and Max Mode draw on your monthly credits, and Replit asks for confirmation before a request moves into a paid mode. Paid work uses effort-based pricing: each request ends in one checkpoint, and a complex build costs more than a small fix. The same credits also pay for publishing, databases and storage, and on Core unused credits don't roll over. You can set usage alerts and hard budget limits in settings.

Lovable charges per message. Plan mode is "1 credit per message, plus the cost of any subagent research." Build mode is priced by complexity; Lovable's own examples are 0.50 credits to make a button gray, 0.90 to remove a footer, 1.20 to add authentication and 2.00 for a landing page with images. Hosting and the built-in backend bill separately from monthly Cloud and AI grants (20 and 4 credits a month on Free, Pro and Business), then from your general credits. One thing to watch: Lovable says its current chat pricing is temporary and applies through October 31, 2026.

In short, Lovable publishes example costs per edit, while Replit's Free Mode lets you do some work without touching your credits. On both, a busy published app adds its own costs.

What each one builds, including mobile

Replit builds native mobile apps. Its docs walk through building an iOS and Android app with Agent, testing it in a simulator or on your phone with Expo Go, and using Replit's Launch feature to upload to App Store Connect. On Core and Pro, Replit also builds data visualizations, slide decks and animated videos. Starter is limited to web and mobile apps.

Lovable builds web apps. Its publishing docs say publishing "always deploys to a web URL" and that Lovable "has no built-in flow" for the App Store or Google Play. You can make the app an installable Progressive Web App, or wrap it with Capacitor outside Lovable. New Lovable apps use TanStack Start, and the built-in backend (database, authentication, storage, edge functions) runs on Supabase's open-source foundation.

If a store-ready mobile app is the goal, our guide to the AI mobile app builder options goes deeper.

Code access and export

Replit gives you the whole project in a cloud workspace. Agent checkpoints are stored in Git, there's a Git pane, and you can push to GitHub or import a GitHub repository. Developers will feel at home; non-developers may find it busier than a chat-only builder.

Lovable keeps the code inside its platform, with three ways out:

  • Git sync to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, two-way and listed on every plan, including Free.
  • Download codebase as a .zip, on paid plans.
  • The code editor, read-only on Free and editable on paid plans.

Lovable's docs also explain how to move the database and backend to your own infrastructure. If code ownership is your deciding factor, we compare it plan by plan in AI app builders that let you export your code.

Which should you pick?

  • Choose Replit if you need a native iOS or Android app, want to work in the code yourself, or want one plan that also covers decks and data dashboards.
  • Choose Lovable if you want a polished web app with logins and a database from a prompt, a clear credit price per edit, and Git sync even on the free plan.
  • Look past both if you build for clients and want fixed monthly credits, the code in your GitHub, and the site on your client's domain without managing a cloud IDE or a usage-billed backend.

That last group is who we built Youmake for. One workspace builds the client's website, a mobile app and the pitch deck, you see the credit cost of every change, and you hand over the code. Start a 3-day Youmake trial for $1 →

Where Youmake fits better

Replit and Lovable are both strong products. Youmake is the better fit in a narrower set of cases:

  • You build for clients. Publish to the client's own domain, export the code or sync it to GitHub, and add teammates from the Builder plan. Agencies can also build a client portal in the same workspace.
  • You need websites, apps and slides together. Web App, Mobile App and Slides sit in one composer, so a client's site and pitch deck live in one place.
  • You want a known monthly cost. Starter is $20/month for 40 credits ($16/month billed yearly), Builder $45 for 90 credits, Agency $120. Each agent reply shows the credits it used.
  • You already have code. Import a GitHub repository and keep building on it.
  • You want a check before going live. Youmake runs a security scan before publishing.

To be fair about the tradeoffs: Youmake has no free plan (the trial costs $1 and needs a card), and it connects your own Supabase, Stripe and Vercel accounts rather than bundling a hosted backend the way Lovable does.

How to do this with Youmake

  1. Start a trial at youmake.dev and pick Web App, Mobile App or Slides in the composer.

  2. Describe the project in one prompt. For example:

Build a booking web app for a small yoga studio: a class schedule, sign-up with email, a page where members see their upcoming classes, and an admin view to add classes. Then create a matching mobile app with the same schedule and sign-up.

  3. Connect your Supabase project for the database and logins, and Stripe if you take payments.

  4. Refine in chat one change at a time and watch the credits each reply uses.

  5. Sync the code to GitHub, then publish to your own or your client's domain.

The Youmake composer: choose Web App, Mobile App or Slides, then describe what you want to build

FAQ

Is Replit or Lovable cheaper? Replit's entry plan is cheaper: Core is $20/month ($18 billed yearly) against Lovable Pro at $25/month ($21 billed yearly). What you actually spend depends on usage. Replit adds paid Agent modes and publishing costs on top, and Lovable adds Cloud usage once the monthly grant runs out.

Can Lovable build mobile apps? Not native ones. Lovable builds web apps and publishes to a web URL. Its docs suggest a Progressive Web App or wrapping the app with Capacitor outside Lovable. Replit builds native iOS and Android apps and can upload them to App Store Connect.

Can I export my code from Replit and Lovable? Yes. Replit has Git built in and syncs with GitHub. Lovable offers two-way Git sync on every plan and a zip download on paid plans.

Which is better for beginners, Replit or Lovable? Lovable's prompt-first editor is simpler to start with. Replit is closer to a developer workspace, which helps once you want to read and change the code.
